Services
Pelvic Exam
During a
pelvic exam, your pelvic organs are closely examined by a gynecologist. This important procedure is one of several methods available to evaluate your sexual and reproductive health, providing valuable insights into your overall well-being. It can help in the early detection of potential issues, ensuring that any necessary interventions can be implemented in a timely manner by a qualified healthcare professional who specializes in women’s health. This ensures that you receive the best possible care tailored to your individual needs.
Contraception
When you're picking the right
contraception, or birth control, method, there are a few things to think about. You’ll want to look at how effective it is, how easy it is to use, and whether you can get it easily. Some options need a prescription, which means you’ll need a prescription. It’s also important to consider if the method protects against STIs, especially if you’re sexually active. And don’t forget to talk about any health issues you might have with your gynecologist, since some methods might not be the best fit for you. By understanding the risks, you'll be better equipped to find the option that works best for you!
Hormone Therapy
As women go through perimenopause and menopause, hormone therapy effectively alleviates various symptoms. This usually involves estrogen to manage hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings. If a woman has her uterus, progestin is included in the regimen, forming "combined hormone therapy," which lowers the risk of uterine cancer linked to estrogen alone. For those who’ve had a hysterectomy, the treatment consists of estrogen, known as "estrogen therapy." Consulting with a gynecologist is crucial for personalized guidance during this journey, so you can make informed decisions about hormone therapy options.
