Services
Pelvic Exam
During a
pelvic exam, your Obgyn assesses your pelvic organs, including the uterus, ovaries, and vagina. This routine procedure is essential for evaluating your sexual and reproductive health, providing vital insights for your well-being. By identifying concerns early, the exam enables timely intervention from a women's health expert, helping prevent serious health issues. This personalized care ensures high-quality treatment tailored to your needs and promotes optimal health outcomes. It encourages open discussions about your reproductive health, empowering you to make informed decisions about your body. Ultimately, this process fosters a supportive environment where your concerns are addressed and health priorities respected.
Breast Health
At Mayeda Gynecology, we emphasize the importance of breast health cancer screening to identify preclinical disease in healthy patients, aiming to enhance survival rates while minimizing the need for intensive interventions. While methods such as breast self-examinations, clinical breast exams, and mammography are instrumental in detecting breast cancer, they also come with potential downsides. Finding the right balance for breast health screening—such as determining the optimal age to start and stop screenings, as well as the frequency of tests—is crucial and can vary among patients. At Mayeda Gynecology, we're here to guide you in making decisions about your breast health suited to your individual needs.
Cervical Cancer Screening
Cervical cancer screening is crucial for detecting abnormal cervical cell changes that may develop into cancer, and can involve a Pap test, HPV testing, or both. Your Obgyn plays a vital role in this preventive care, as the primary cause of cervical cancer is infection with high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV), particularly types 16 and 18. While some HPV strains are linked to various cancers, early detection through screening can identify abnormal cell changes that range from mild to severe, with more serious alterations posing a risk for cancer development if left untreated. If you're concerned about your cervical health, reach out to us to scheduled a visit today.
